An ambitious total conversion mod, we bring you a Victorian adventure set in a universe parallel to the cosmos of Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies. Hundreds of new stories, 45 new ports, and 30 new officers and mascots. Over 100,000 words of new content. With new art, soundtrack, factions, ships, weapons, and items, Sunless Sea: Rewritten offers you a new world to explore, discover, and survive.
The Engines and Ambitions Update sees two new Ambitions added to the game! Bring Peace to the Unterzee or found your own cult in a bid for Godhood! Also featured is our first glimpse inside Castle Kysamoto, a new ending to Mekhane's questline, and a haunting tale in the frozen North.
Hold onto your hats - there are just 20 assorted things to do until the mod is content-complete!

Install instructions
***Back up save files***
Go to C:/Users/[YourUsername]/AppData/LocalLow/Failbetter Games/Sunless Sea/Saves/ and back up your save files.
***Unzip Files***
Use 7-Zip, WinRAR, or the built-in Windows extractor to unzip Sunless Sea: Rewritten and Sunless Sea: Softcoded files.
***Install game files***
Copy "Sunless Sea Rewritten" folder into C:/Users/[YourUsername]/AppData/LocalLow/Failbetter Games/Sunless Sea/addon/ (create folder if needed).
***Install images***
Copy images from "SSR Images" folder to C:/Users/[YourUsername]/AppData/LocalLow/Failbetter Games/Sunless Sea/images/sn/icons/ (create folder if needed).
***Install Sunless Sea: Softcoded***
Download from https://www.nexusmods.com/sunlesssea/mods/38/.
Place contents of SSSoftcoded folder into your root folder (e.g., C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Sunless Sea/).
Copy "audio" folder from Sunless Sea: Rewritten download to C:/Users/[YourUsername]/AppData/LocalLow/Failbetter Games/Sunless Sea/ (create folder if needed).
Disclaimer: Adjust paths if Sunless Sea is installed on an external drive or a different location. Replace "C:/" with the correct drive letter or location and follow the same folder structure.

Hello, is this still in development?
Have an embarrassingly late response: Yes! Things were up in the air for a while, but I've seen a surge of motivation lately and huge strides forward have been made.

Love this mod! It's the Sunless Sea 2 which we never got (Sunless Skies is great, but it has different atmosphere, at least for me).
I liked new ports a lot, ammo system, and, of course, the stories, the stories!
Excited to see what awaits us in future updates!
